ABOUT ME
Volunteer
Over the past 15 years, I have volunteered in many capacities around our community. As a coach for the SCVAA, I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching our children about the sports and also what it means to have strong character and to be a good teammate. I coached a mix of t-ball, baseball, wrestling and football for 7 years.
I also volunteer for various projects in the community, including a tree planting initiative, school fundraisers and other community events. Just like the growth of those tiny trees, it is wonderful to see what can happen when people share a common vision.
Currently I am in the second year of serving on the Lake Elmo Planning Commission. It is very clear to me that residents take a pride in the Lake Elmo community and I would be honored to serve the residents as Mayor of Lake Elmo!
Profession
For the past 26 years, I have worked in the transportation industry in various capacities. The first 20 years were in in the public sector, specifically MnDOT and Anoka County. I then moved in to the private sector, focusing on consulting, business development and quality management. Experience on both sides of the table along with many types of infrastructure projects critical to the safe movement of traffic, have given me a well-rounded perspective to prioritize, plan and execute. In 2004, I received the "Negotiator of the Year" from MnDOT, saving millions of taxpayer's dollars by managing timelines effectively, leveraging strengths across teams and holding all parties accountable.

- Professional Engineering License - State of Minnesota
Family
My wife, Tara, and I have been married for 20 years. She is self-employed and is very active in the broader community. We have three children who all attend Stillwater Area HS. Extracurricular activities, driving practice, travel and time with friends and family, keep our life full! We also have two dogs and a rabbit.

Just for Fun
As a University of Minnesota Alumni I have been a long time fan and supporter of Gopher sports. I also love to get out to golf on many of our local courses. Hunting and skiing are also a couple of passions that I love to share with my family.
